The fashion industry is polluting our earth. They are the second highest polluting industry after oil and produce 10% of global green house gas emissions, along with 20% of global water waste.
We are two high school students from Conestoga High School and we think that this problem needs to be addressed. We need to hold our clothing retailers responsible for their actions.
Support us as we try to raise awareness of this problem.
Ways you can help…
If you’re a Conestoga student, donate to our ongoing clothing drive! All proceeds are donated to Goodwill and Plato’s Closet, with any proceeds from Plato’s going to interest groups supporting our cause.
If not…
- contact your local representatives and clothing companies. Ask them what they are doing to keep our planet habitable.
- reuse your clothes as table cloths
- pass down clothing between siblings
- take advantage of systems like H&M, where bringing in old clothes can give you a discount
- donate your clothes
- and more…
